W zakresie zainteresowania geofizyki manifestuje si\u0119 on najcz\u0119\u015bciej w postaci trz\u0119sie\u0144 ziemi i p\u0119kni\u0119\u0107 lodowc\u00f3w. Dotychczasowe pr\u00f3by jako\u015bciowego zrozumienia tych naturalnych proces\u00f3w nie da\u0142y w pe\u0142ni zadowalaj\u0105cych wynik\u00f3w. Ci\u0105gle nie rozumiemy wielu aspekt\u00f3w fizycznych tych proces\u00f3w, a w konsekwencji nie mo\u017cna w stanie ich przewidywa\u0107 z akceptowaln\u0105 wiarygodno\u015bci\u0105. Losowo\u015b\u0107 trz\u0119sie\u0144 ziemi i zjawisk lodowcowych znacz\u0105co ogranicza mo\u017cliwo\u015bci ich bada\u0144 eksperymentalnych. Z tego powodu istotnego znaczenia nabiera podej\u015bcie komplementarne oparte na symulacjach komputerowych. W niniejszej pracy ilustrowane jest takie podej\u015bcie, analizuj\u0105ce p\u0119kanie materia\u0142u o ziarnistej strukturze mikroskopowej w procesie rozci\u0105gania. Wykonane symulacje pokaza\u0142y jak struktura mikroskopowa determinuje losowo\u015b\u0107 procesu p\u0119kania i wp\u0142ywa na takie elementy procesu jak lokalizacja obszar\u00f3w o zwi\u0119kszonej g\u0119sto\u015bci energii kinetycznej, a wi\u0119c powstawanie centr\u00f3w nukleacji p\u0119kni\u0119cia materia\u0142u.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>S\u0142owa kluczowe:<\/strong> Symulacje numeryczne, Metoda Element\u00f3w Dyskretnych, p\u0119kanie cia\u0142 sta\u0142ych, materia\u0142y ziarniste, zniszczenie przez rozci\u0105ganie<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Abstract<br \/>\n<\/strong>Fragmentation of solid materials is a very common and simultaneously very complex physical process. From geophysical point of view the most interesting examples of such processes are earthquakes and glacial processes like icequakes. In spite of a huge effort of analyzing them these processes are still poorly understood for many reasons. One of them is their stochasticity. For these reasons more important become numerical simulations which allow to cast some light on physical mechanism leading to nucleation, development and finally arresting earthquakes or glacial breaking processes. In this paper we illustrate advantages of such approach analyzing a tensional breaking process of macroscopically homogeneous material of granular microstructure.
